Working visit to London: social security agreement

Since Brexit, the Agreement on the Free Movement of Persons no longer governs social security between Switzerland and the United Kingdom. On 9 September, at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Alain Berset signs the new social security agreement with Minister of State Nigel Adams. It applies provisionally from 1 November 2021.
The same day, at the House of Commons, he meets the Health Secretary, Sajid Javid: epidemiological situation, vaccination in both countries, strengthening the WHO, fair distribution of vaccines through COVAX, a future pandemic treaty. A press briefing follows at the ambassador’s residence.
10 September is devoted to culture, with a visit to Tate Modern.
