Berlinale 2017
13 February 2017 - 14 February 2017
Alain Berset travels to the Berlin International Film Festival. At the Swiss Embassy, he addresses Swiss filmmakers. In the evening, he attends the world premiere of “Tiere” by Greg Zglinski, a Swiss, Austrian and Polish co-production, in the Forum section.
His speech takes on clichés: “Das postfaktische Zeitalter ist heute in aller Munde. Aber uns Schweizer kann das nicht erschrecken. Wir waren schon immer postfaktisch.” He dismantles Orson Welles’s line about Switzerland and the cuckoo clock.
The next day, he visits the European Film Market and the stands of Germany, Austria, Italy, France and Mexico, to strengthen co-productions.
