56th Art Biennale: Swiss Pavilion and Salon Suisse

8 May 2015 - 9 May 2015

On 8 May, Alain Berset inaugurates the Swiss Pavilion, where Pamela Rosenkranz is showing “Our Product”. He defends a promotion of culture that opens spaces to thought-provoking works whose primary purpose is not to respond to the market. The exhibition speaks of the loss of physical autonomy, of the boundary between illness and health, of nature and artifice.

He visits the pavilion with the Austrian Minister of Culture, Josef Ostermayer; they discuss the promotion of culture and international exchanges.

On the 9th, at the Palazzo Trevisan, he opens Pro Helvetia’s Salon Suisse, “S.O.S. Dada – The World Is a Mess”. Speech in German, every sentence launched with “DA”: “Dada is never right”, proclaimed a Paris leaflet of 1921; for a politician, that is convenient.
