Opening of Visions du Réel

In the evening of the same day, Alain Berset opens the 18th edition of Visions du Réel in Nyon, for a few days the “international capital” of documentary film.
He pays tribute to a place of formal freedom, with no imposed formats or running times, and recalls that documentary is a Swiss speciality, long a German-speaking one, now shared: the Swiss Film Award for best documentary has just gone to “Vol spécial” by Fernand Melgar.
