38th Federal Hornussen Festival
25 August 2018
Alain Berset is the official guest of the 38th Federal Hornussen Festival, in Walkringen (BE).
He compares the game to reform in Switzerland: the Federal Council strikes the “Nouss” towards the people and Parliament, and opponents try to knock it down with their boards. “Auch Vorschläge sind Abschläge.” The length of a game is not fixed: “wir versuchen jetzt seit 15 Jahren, die Altersvorsorge zu reformieren.” He quotes Gotthelf and praises the fair play of a sport that was once violent. His formula for democracy: “In der Schweiz raufen wir uns – und dann raufen wir uns zusammen.”
