Meeting of health ministers of the German-speaking countries

In Lindau, on Lake Constance, Alain Berset takes part in the annual meeting of the health ministers of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg. The host: Jens Spahn. Around the table: Beate Hartinger-Klein, Mauro Pedrazzini and, for Luxembourg, Jean-Claude Schmit.
Three topics: big data in health, recruiting nursing staff abroad, and cancer research, with Professor Michael Baumann of the German Cancer Research Center. The final declaration provides for a network of the five countries on language requirements for foreign nursing staff, joint ideas for applying the WHO code of practice on international recruitment, and a joint project on artificial intelligence and big data. Joint press conference on 3 September.
