Paris: UNESCO, Polar Summit and Paris Peace Forum
Arriving from the Vatican, Alain Berset attends the 42nd UNESCO General Conference on 9 November. He holds talks with the Director-General, Audrey Azoulay, and takes part in a panel on climate and biodiversity. In the evening, Emmanuel Macron receives the heads of state and government attending the Paris Peace Forum at the Élysée.
On 10 November, he attends the opening of the Forum at the Palais Brongniart, then goes to the One Planet – Polar Summit, the first international summit devoted to glaciers and the poles, at the National Museum of Natural History, where he speaks on behalf of the Alpine countries. He returns to the Forum for a panel entitled “From multi-crises to multi-conflicts: how to stop the vicious circle?”. The day ends at the International Organisation of La Francophonie, with its Secretary General, Louise Mushikiwabo.
