Primary medical care before the Ordine dei medici

At the invitation of the Ordine dei medici of the canton of Ticino, Alain Berset defends the constitutional article on primary medical care at the USI. He opens with Hermann Hesse: “L’arrivo a Lugano non è stato esaltante”, he wrote in 1927, before staying there for thirty-five years.

He describes a family doctor’s waiting room, from the feverish child to the 84-year-old patient in for her check-ups, to show what primary care achieves every day.
