Second Digitaltag, Zurich main station
The second national digital day, organised by digitalswitzerland in a dozen stations and venues across the country. Alain Berset speaks at Zurich main station, where Johann Schneider-Ammann and Ignazio Cassis are also present.
His speech asks two questions: what must change, and what must be kept? To change: education, social insurance, data protection, so that no one is left behind in the platform economy. To keep: the Swiss balance between competitiveness and social and regional compensation. “Wir dürfen nicht einer digitalen Euphorie verfallen und auch keinem digitalen Fatalismus.”
He then answers questions from the audience. On jobs: “Einige Jobs werden sicher verschwinden.” On a self-driving official car, he remains sceptical: “Ich fahre sehr gerne selber Auto.”
