The Dutch researcher Geert Hofstede compared Swiss corporate culture to a “well-oiled machine”. Before the machine industry, Alain Berset links the image to social partnership: the industry’s social partners have just concluded a new collective labour agreement, for the first time with a minimum wage.
He meets apprentices there; one asks him whether he will be able to count on his pension. He will tell the story a week later before the cantons. His message to the industrialists: collective agreements and social insurance are guarantees of confidence in times of uncertainty, and the Old-Age Provision 2020 reform seeks a balance of interests.
