The day after the election, before the Swiss press

On 26 June 2024, the day after his election, Alain Berset receives the Swiss media in Strasbourg. He looks back on five months of campaigning and thanks the Federal Council and the Swiss delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly.
He sets out his priorities. First Ukraine, with a new working group bringing together the various bodies of the Council of Europe. Then democratic backsliding: he calls for a revitalisation strategy based on inclusion and participation at local level, the rule of law and cultural diversity.
