Opening of the BEA
29 April 2022
As guest of honour, Alain Berset opens the 69th BEA at Bernexpo, the first after a two-year break, before some 750 guests, including Adolf Ogi and State Councillors Beatrice Simon and Astrid Bärtschi.
A speech full of humour on the fair’s motto, “Finde 1’000 Gründe, länger zu bleiben”, a dangerous one for a politician. Then the assessment: the Federal Council sought a balance between protecting health and social and economic life; the pandemic is not over; he thanks the trade fair and events sector, which was hard hit.
