ETH Day

Alain Berset gives the keynote address at ETH Day, marking the university’s 167th anniversary, alongside President Joël Mesot and Rector Günther Dissertori. He thanks science for its role in the pandemic and reflects on the crisis of confidence in progress: “We have to convince the vast majority of society, once again, that it is possible to live well and safely in this society.” Theodor W. Hänsch and Thomas Zurbuchen receive honorary doctorates.
