Architecture Biennale and ministerial debate on Baukultur
On 22 September, at the Giorgio Cini Foundation, the Federal Office of Culture and Europa Nostra organise a high-level debate on Baukultur, as part of the European Cultural Heritage Summit. Keynote by the architect David Chipperfield. Alain Berset debates with the German State Secretary Anne Katrin Bohle and Francisco de Paula Coelho, Dean of the European Investment Bank Institute.
He explains what quality means in the Davos process: a balance between function and technique that integrates culture and respects the character of a place. The debate builds on the 2018 Davos Declaration and the Davos Baukultur Quality System, published in May 2021.
On 23 September, he visits the Swiss Pavilion, “Orae – Experiences on the Border”, then the Giardini and the Arsenale. “Sind Grenzen Linien oder Lebensräume?”
