Opening of Bédémania

In the evening, Alain Berset opens Bédémania, the comics festival of Belfaux, his village. He has been coming “for years”, but speaks there for the first time as a Federal Councillor.

Comics, he says, achieve “the feat of saying a lot in few words. A feat that not many politicians have mastered!” He cites Spiegelman and Maus, Chappatte on Syria, and Cosey: “in a comic there is a story, you don’t need to take three aspirins to understand it”.
