Epidemics Act and Health2020: campaign evening in Schaffhausen
22 August 2013
Back from China, Alain Berset defends the Epidemics Act in Schaffhausen. He sets two answers against each other on the question of good politics: Max Weber’s, passion, responsibility, a sense of proportion, and the town’s motto, “Lappi tue d’Auge uf!”. In Beijing and Shanghai, he says, people told him they envied the quality of the Swiss system.
He responds to fears of forced vaccination: everyone remains free to be vaccinated or not, and for children, it is the parents who decide. And he quotes Senator Moynihan: “Sie haben ein Recht auf Ihre eigene Meinung. Aber Sie haben kein Recht auf Ihre eigenen Fakten.”
