First meeting of the German-speaking health ministers

Born of an idea launched in Bern in October 2012 with Daniel Bahr, the first meeting brings together in Münster the health ministers of Germany, Austria (Alois Stöger), Luxembourg (Mars Di Bartolomeo) and Switzerland. On 31 May, at the City Hall, they are welcomed by the mayor and sign the city’s Golden Book.
On the agenda: organ donation, with the Swiss campaign presented by Alain Berset; hospital financing and flat-rate payments per case; cancer registries, for which the Swiss bill has just come out of consultation; long-term and cross-border care. The ministers decide to meet every year and to set up an expert group. Switzerland will host the 2014 meeting.
