Official visit by the President of Benin, Patrice Talon

Alain Berset receives Patrice Talon, President of Benin, at the Lohn residence, with Doris Leuthard and Ignazio Cassis. It is a return visit: Doris Leuthard had travelled to Benin a year earlier. Benin has been a priority country for Swiss cooperation since 1981.
The foreign ministers, Ignazio Cassis and Aurélien Agbénonci, sign two project agreements: one for private entrepreneurship, the other for agricultural umbrella organisations. Alain Berset points out that Beninese companies could make better use of Swiss customs preferences for developing countries. The two countries also discuss migration and their shared commitment to the universal abolition of the death penalty.
