Opening of the 69th World Health Assembly
Alain Berset gives the opening speech of the 69th World Health Assembly at the Palais des Nations. He starts from the 2030 Agenda: “Transforming our world!” The Sustainable Development Goals now concern all states, and no longer only low- and middle-income countries.
On the same day, he chairs a ministerial round table on dementia, organised by Switzerland with fifteen other states, including Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States and Ethiopia, represented by Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. In the evening, he receives the delegations on behalf of the Federal Council.
On the sidelines, he meets some ten health ministers, including those of Canada, China, Iran, Norway, the Netherlands and South Africa.
