Rio Paralympic Games and the Swiss School of São Paulo
7 September 2016 - 10 September 2016
Alain Berset attends the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games, after a reception given by the Brazilian President, Michel Temer. The Swiss team numbers 24 athletes. He visits them in the Paralympic Village, visits the House of Switzerland, devoted to disability, and presents medals.
In Rio, he also visits the Babilônia favela and meets Manu Dibango, Grand Witness of La Francophonie for the Games.
On 10 September, he is in São Paulo for the 50th anniversary of the Swiss School. He recounts, in Portuguese, that he came to Brazil after the maturité to teach, that the post no longer existed, and that he earned his living as a bar pianist.
