Swiss Film Award 2016
18 March 2016
The Quartz awards are presented at the Schiffbau in Zurich, live on SRF, RTS and RSI. “Köpek” by Esen Isik wins the award for best feature film; “Above and Below” that for best documentary.
Alain Berset pays tribute to the cinematographer Renato Berta, winner of the Honorary Award, “ein Meister des Weglassens”, who has shot films with Tanner, Godard, Schmid, Rivette, Chabrol and Rohmer. Laughing, he regrets the ban on telephones in the Federal Council’s meeting room: the amateur films that would come out of it would have “eine ganz besondere ästhetische Qualität”.
