Trendtage Gesundheit: the patient of tomorrow

At the 8th Trendtage Gesundheit in Lucerne, Alain Berset opens with an admission: according to the questionnaire on the organisers’ website, he is “a difficult case”. He does not look up his symptoms on the internet and does not ask for a diagnosis on Facebook. “Ich bin zwar einer der jüngsten Bundesräte in der Geschichte, ich bin aber in diesem Bereich offenbar hoffnungslos antiquiert.”

The substance: the health system suffers from several illnesses at once, and everyone has their own therapy. Health policy must not follow the principle of speed: first the causes must be established seriously, then treated without the remedies cancelling each other out.
