Visit to Luxembourg: Xavier Bettel
A visit to the Grand Duchy. On 25 June, Alain Berset holds talks with Prime Minister Xavier Bettel. The two countries are alike: multilingualism, a financial centre, a high share of foreign residents (48% in Luxembourg, 25% in Switzerland) and many cross-border commuters. They discuss European policy, the Swiss bilateral approach, Brexit and a common migration policy with a reform of Dublin. A press conference follows.
Alain Berset is received at the Chamber of Deputies by its President, Mars Di Bartolomeo. Then, with Muriel Zeender Berset, he pays a courtesy visit to Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa. The day before, with Xavier Bettel, he visited Edward Steichen’s exhibition “The Family of Man” at Clervaux Castle.
