Von Wattenwyl talks: cybersecurity and relations with the EU
Alain Berset leads the Federal Council delegation at the Von Wattenwyl talks, with Ueli Maurer and Federal Chancellor Walter Thurnherr. Facing them: the party and parliamentary group leaders of the CVP, FDP, SP and SVP.
First topic: cybersecurity. On 18 April, the Federal Council adopted the National Strategy for the Protection of Switzerland against Cyber Risks 2018–2022. Ueli Maurer presents its implementation; the discussion covers coordination between departments and the division of roles between cybersecurity, cyber defence and criminal prosecution.
Second topic: Europe. The delegation presents the arbitration solution outlined for settling disputes with the EU and reaffirms that the accompanying measures will be maintained. On the second Swiss contribution, the Federal Council is waiting for the end of the consultation and the overall state of relations before deciding.
