Working visit by Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz

The fourth meeting of the year with Sebastian Kurz, who comes to Berne as Chancellor and as holder of the rotating presidency of the Council of the EU. At the centre: the framework agreement between Switzerland and the EU, Brexit, the record of the Austrian presidency and the rapprochement of the Western Balkans. “Für die Schweiz ist die Qualität des Abkommens wichtiger als ein Abschluss zu einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt.”

They also discuss migration and the reform of Dublin, the Iran nuclear agreement, Russia, Ukraine and Turkey. The two leaders exchange the instruments of ratification of the air policing agreement signed in Salzburg in September 2017.
