Opening of the 26th Fribourg International Film Festival

Alain Berset opens the 26th edition of the FIFF, the first under artistic director Thierry Jobin. He returns as a regular: his position has changed, “the pleasure of discovering new films” has remained.

He defends the “right to diversity, artistic and human”: only 3 to 4% of the films shown in Switzerland come from neither the United States nor Western Europe. The festival opens with “Sal” by the Chilean Diego Rougier.
