Popular vote: 88% yes to primary medical care

The people and all the cantons approve the constitutional article on primary medical care, the counter-proposal to the initiative “Yes to family medicine”. The yes vote reaches 88%, more than two million votes.

Alain Berset speaks of a “clear signal” and of a mandate given to the political world to face “the major challenges ahead for our health system”, first and foremost “the shortage of general practitioners and the increase in the number of chronic diseases”. An ordinance is to raise family doctors’ income by 200 million francs.
