50 years of EPFL
5 October 2019
Alain Berset speaks at the official day marking 50 years of EPFL as a federal institute.
He poses a riddle: a school that celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2003 and celebrates its 50th in 2019. The answer lies in two dates: the cantonal institution founded in 1853 became federal in 1969. To solve the equation, he says, you need interdisciplinarity.
