Working visit to Vienna: Stöger, Hundstorfer, Ostermayer
Alain Berset’s first working visit to Vienna, at the invitation of Health Minister Alois Stöger. With him, he prepares the second meeting of the German-speaking health ministers, scheduled in Switzerland in August, and discusses ongoing reforms, eHealth and prevention. At dinner, he opens with two health ministers meeting in a grand Viennese restaurant: “das dürfte der kürzeste Witz über Prävention sein”.
On 10 April, he meets Rudolf Hundstorfer, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, for the first time: old-age provision, a more flexible retirement age, the reintegration of invalidity insurance pensioners. A regular dialogue on social insurance is agreed between Austria, Germany and Switzerland. With Josef Ostermayer, Minister of Culture, he discusses the trilateral film co-production agreement and the “Creative Europe” programme.
