National Conference against Poverty

Nearly 7% of the population lives in poverty and 13.5% is at risk of falling into it. At the National Conference in Biel/Bienne, the Confederation, the cantons, the cities and the communes sign a joint declaration to invest in prevention: early childhood education, support for parents, vocational training, social integration.

Alain Berset draws up an initial assessment of the National Programme against Poverty launched in 2014: “No one should have to live in poverty.”
